The current format is a two-night celebration: arrival and dinner on Friday; breakfast, lunch, lakeside ceremony and reception on Saturday; and departure brunch on Sunday. The sample itinerary above is a guide, and your coordinator will build the final schedule with you.

The 26 rooms in Tamarack, Cedar and Red Eagle accommodate approximately 58 guests and up to 72 depending on room configuration. The current package requires at least 23 rooms for both nights, including all 16 deluxe rooms and at least seven standard rooms.

The published rooming package includes two nights of accommodation, arrival dinner, wedding-day breakfast and lunch, and departure brunch. Alcohol, individual tabs, incidentals and spa treatments are additional.

Island Lake is an off-grid backcountry resort with high-speed Starlink internet and boosted cellular reception. Guest rooms intentionally do not have televisions or mini-fridges. Irons and ironing boards are available in each lodge’s common area.

The gravel paths between lodges are packed but uneven. I Dew Point is a five-to-ten-minute walk on a forest trail with roots and uneven ground. A ten-seat shuttle departs Tamarack Lodge 45 minutes before the ceremony for guests unable to walk; seats must be reserved with the coordinator. The wedding-party shuttle leaves 15 minutes before the ceremony, with no time for additional trips. Other guests should bring flat shoes for the walk. Tamarack has a ramp, a main-floor accessible washroom and dining access. Cedar rooms 1 and 4 offer the most suitable bathrooms, although no guest room is purpose-built as wheelchair accessible. A ramp into Cedar can be installed with advance notice. Bear Lodge’s dining room is accessible, but guests needing an accessible washroom must use Tamarack. Discuss every mobility need well in advance.

Tamarack can host up to 100 guests for plated service or 72 for a buffet. Bear Lodge can host up to 56 for plated service or 42 for a buffet. Maximum counts constrain floor-plan options, so the coordinator will match the room and service style to your group.

Published wedding-weekend check-in begins at 4:00 p.m. on arrival day. Check-out is by 11:00 a.m. on departure day.

The wedding couple assigns guests to specific rooms and provides that list to the coordinator 60 days before arrival. Once the lodge has the rooming assignments, guests can call reservations at 1-888-422-8754. Reservations is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding statutory holidays. Guests should wait until the room list has been submitted before calling. Full rooming-package payment is processed 30 days before arrival; Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted.

Island Lake does not supply decorations. The team supplies linens, napkins, flatware and glassware and can assist with simple décor. Couples commonly bring centrepieces, place cards, guest favours and a guest book. Detailed installations should be coordinated with a wedding planner or a designated guest.

Flowers and cakes cannot be stored before the wedding day. The team can arrange storage on the day of the wedding.

The lodge does not provide off-property wedding shuttles. Local transportation is limited, so couples should arrange a provider early. Tunnel 49 is one local shuttle and taxi option. Ceremony transportation on the property is limited and must be coordinated in advance.

On-site wedding and engagement photography is reserved for couples holding their wedding at Island Lake. The property does not permit unsanctioned commercial, professional or wedding photography.

Wedding groups receive exclusive use of the booked lodges and facilities, and public vehicle access is restricted on Friday and Saturday. Summer hiking and biking trails remain open to the public.
