Our approach to privacy

Island Lake Lodge collects only the information needed to answer enquiries, arrange reservations, provide guest services and operate this website. This notice explains the information involved and the choices available to you.

Information you choose to share

When you contact us by email or telephone, request information, join a mailing list or make a reservation, you may provide details such as your name, contact information, travel dates, group information, preferences and other information needed to help with your stay. Please do not send payment-card or banking details by ordinary email.

Website and service information

Our hosting provider may process basic technical information, such as an IP address, browser type, requested pages and security logs, to deliver and protect the site. Some pages include video or links supplied by third parties. If you play embedded media or follow an external link, that provider may receive technical information and apply its own privacy policy.

Improving site search

When you choose a search result, we use the search phrase, the page selected and the results visible to improve future searches. Before storage, the phrase is converted to a hash; the original search text is not retained by the search-learning service. Aggregate counts influence rankings for up to 90 days, with recent choices carrying more weight. Random event IDs prevent duplicate counting and become eligible for deletion after 24 hours. This feature does not store names, IP addresses or visitor profiles, and it honours browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.

How information is used

We use information to respond to you, administer bookings and payments, deliver requested services, communicate operational or safety information, maintain records, improve the guest experience and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Sharing and retention

Information may be shared with service providers that help us operate reservations, payments, communications, hosting or guest services, and with authorities when required by law. We limit sharing to what is reasonably needed for those purposes. Records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for service, operational, accounting, legal or safety requirements.

Your choices

You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, withdraw consent where applicable, or unsubscribe from marketing messages. Some records may need to be retained where required for a reservation, safety, accounting or legal purpose.
